I did experience some weight gain with the Clomid and also with the Provera I had to take to start my cycle up to start taking the Clomid. I've found that eating a balanced diet does not really seem to keep the extra pounds off (some is retained water) and you really don't want to undereat on Clomid because it will deprive your body of the nutrients it needs to cycle properly. It's just yet another thing you have to put up with while going through this, and injectibles are supposedly worse. With Clomid I had weight gain, irritability, severe ovulation cramps, nausea, headaches, hot flashes, bloating, indigestion and the symptoms lasted for 2 weeks. It made me ovulate, but not until CD23 and my luteal phase was still only 10 days long. Hope your experience is better than mine and this month is your BFP!!"

i'm on my 5th cycle !! im a size 10 uk but since taking clomid i'v
noticed i look bloated & fat specially around my waist & tummy area, i've had a flat stomach before .
i also have pcos so i gain very quickly & can't lose easily !
anyways i've started my gym classes this week so i hope it helps me ,
i'm also on metformin for 2 months now,i've heared you lose weight
with it but it didn't happen to me !!

Well, its friday, whic is great, the weekends almost here!!!
I was curious as to if anyone gained weight on Clomid.
Since starting it, i have gone from 10st2-4lb up to 10st 12lbs, my diets definately no worse (i eat very healthy, sweets are downfall!!)
I cycle to and from work everyday on my lovely Vintage Raleigh i picked up (Love it!!) and on off at the gym and jog!
But im bigger and heavier, despite excercising more, i know the whole muscle weighs more etc, but not fat!!!!
My 12's are getting tight and im not going over 12, but this really has only happened since Clomid!
Anyone else??????

WishedForChild replied: "I took clomid last month and got "hyper-ovarian syndrome" which is fluid accumulation in the abdomen. I gained weight fast and looked about five months pregnant. An ultrasound can detect if you get this, the good news in all of this is my MD told me that most woman who get this are preggers. Good luck and take care :)"

Ava replied: "I didn't gain weight on clomid but I only took the minimal dosage for 3 months. I have heard something about weight gain with other fertility drugs though, so it's possible. Though, now that you mention in, this month that I am not using it, my face does look thinner!
As one of the other posters described, weight gain that happens literally overnight is cause for concern because it could indicate excessive fluid retention from hyper-stimulation. I didn't get the impression that's what you were talking about though."

Will clomid cause weight gain/water retention? This is my second adventure with clomid (my son was conceived with clomid/HCG/IUI in 2007). This time around my RE started me on the same dose of clomid that was successful last time, but there was no ovulation. So he increased the dose to 150mg. I am on cycle day 17. I am SO BLOATED! I mean, uncomfortable bloat, it sucks. I also weight nine pounds more than I did a few days ago, and I've not had any significant change in my diet. My internal "lady parts" are really sensitive. Is this normal with a higher dose of clomid? Could I possibly be overstimulated (I know OHSS is VERY rare with clomid).
Any ideas? (other than call my RE)

I am always the same weight (arond 125/130) I noticed within the past couple of days a little more fat in my "love handles". I tried on a pair of my favorite jeans that I havent worn in 1 1/2 weeks and I could barely button them!!! Just wondering if it is the clomid because I have the same eating habits that I have had for years but now I drink more water. Baby dust!

I know that it causes bloating around ovulation and for some all month and as you are drinking a lot of water, it may add to it...
I felt bloated and actually had to buy new jeans as I couldn't fit my others, I was so upset but I am 134, all of my weight is in the lower area so when I add some pounds, which is rare, it always goes to the love handle area or thighs!

Has anyone gained weight using clomid? I'm on my 4th cycle of clomid and I used to weigh 116 consistantly for 4 years, now I am averaging 122-124 and it has become hard for me to lose weight. I feel like I hardly eat anything because I'm not consuming as many calories as I used to. Has anyone else had this problem.
